Built around a traditional fishing village on ancient lava flow cascading into the ocean, this resort area is both charming and authentic. In the town centre, you’ll mostly meet locals. There’s a great playground, plenty of cosy bars, local shops, and a truly welcoming vibe. The coastal area boasts beautiful holiday complexes and upscale hotels.

From the seafront promenade, you’ll enjoy views of the Atlantic and the majestic cliffs of Los Gigantes. Between the neighbouring islands of La Gomera and occasionally visible La Palma, dolphins and whales can often be spotted – sometimes even leaping during postcard-worthy sunsets. You can stroll all the way to Alcalá or to the cliffs.
